Review - LoneStar Steakhouse in Hampton

This morning as he was leaving for church, Ray told me to decide about lunch. Since I have been going through cancer treatment, we have eaten out more, but then there is always the decision on where to go.

I picked up the Daily Press and a coupon fell out for the Lonestar Steakhouse. Two entrees for $19.99, with an appetizer. How could we beat that?

Our server, Ebony was so nice and sweet and really catered to our every need. She took the coupon and made sure it was taken care of up front so we wouldn't have to wait when we were finished.

We chose the Texas Rose (Whole fried Onion) with spicy dipping sause as our appetizer. It was crispy and not nearly as greasy as some I have seen. The spicing was just right.

Ebony brought us some heavenly fresh rolls with honey butter. Then our entree's came. Ray was very pleased with his 6 oz. Sweet Bourbon (grilled) Salmon, twice baked potato, and a bowl of chili. My entree was the 6 oz. Sidewinder Chicken (grilled) with red skin mashed potatoes and steamed brocolli. Ray loved the salmon and said that 6 oz. was just right. He is diabetic and I can never take him to a buffett.

The dining experience was excellent. It was very clean and not smoky at all.

One of the most important things I consider when deciding whether I will return to a restaurant, is the bathroom. Good marks for the restroom. It was very clean.

The GOOD NEWS is that I can go back to the LoneStar Steakhouse in Hampton. The food was great and it was a wonderful dining experience. We have been to the Lonestar in Newport News and it has the same wonderful food and atmosphere.

(As an aside, don't forget to tip on the total value of the mean, not the final cost when the coupon is used.)

Re: Review - LoneStar Steakhouse in Hampton

Barbaraduke, I just read you post and first let me say that I hope all is well with you : ) I've been to Lone Star a number of times and have nothing but good things to say about the restaurant. Most of my visits have been for lunch. The one and only bad experience I had took place about a month ago. I think it had more to do with the new waiter. Did not change my opinion about the place. The manager did everything she could to make it right. I was more upset at my friends for the way they behaved towards her than anything else. I definitely intend to go back.

There is no LoneStar Steakhouse in Newport News. There is however a Texas Steakhouse & Saloon in Hampton and Newport News. I think you have the two confused.
