Where does the information come?
The Daily Press buys the property transfer data from a contractor, who gets the information from local courthouses.
How often is the database updated?
Most of the localities' data is updated weekly.
I searched for a buyer or seller name but there were no results.
You can search for buyer or seller using a full name or a partial name. If you attempt a search and get no results, try widening your search. Also note that many records include middle initials. So searching for "John Smith" will not find records that have the name "John Q. Smith." But searching for just "Smith" will.
I searched within a radius around an address but there were no results.
Make sure to enter as complete an address as possible -- including the street type (road, boulevard, street, etc.) and the city.
Why is the price or other information missing from a sale listing?
The listings in the database come directly from courthouse records. If the price or other information isn't recorded there, it won't be in our database, either. Often there is no price listed if the transfer was a gift.
Why are some markers on the map at the wrong address?
We've done our best to accurately place each marker on the maps, but some may be incorrect. If you find something you think is incorrect, please let us know using the form below.
